Anxiety
"I hold you by your right hand--I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, 'Don't be afraid. I am here to help you.'" Isaiah 41:13
I was reading a friend's blog yesterday, and it dawned on me when I read this verse that our God is a chivalrous God, among His many attributes. The reason behind Him specifically holding onto our right hand is so that He can defend us in the battle of life. Let me explain. During the time when defense of a country was handled by knights, they would walk on the woman's right side so that they could easily defend the woman with their sword if she or her honor were attacked. In addition to this God is able to easily put us behind Himself when we are attacked and defend us all the more easily. What comfort this brings, to know that God is at the ready, able to defend us in a moment's notice! All we need to do is turn to Him and ask for His help and He is right there, ready to defend us against whatever may come our way. So the next time you face a battle, turn to Him and allow Him to do what He truly desires to do
